Qigong/Tai Chi Chuan

“Working With One’s Life Energy”

It is said that with qigong, we may “become our own doctors.” Qigong, which means “working with one’s life energy”, is the precursor of t’ai chi chuan. It is an ancient Chinese system of self-healing that uses breath, movement and meditation to cleanse, strengthen and circulate blood and “qi” throughout the body. Practicing qigong is an excellent way for us to reconnect with our true nature and the health that is our birthright.

Evidence-Based Studies

Recent medical studies have shown that qigong can reduce stress, improve cardiovascular and lung function, increase muscle, bone strength, and flexibility and stimulate the cerebral cortex. Daily practice may help resolve digestive problems, asthma, insomnia, pain, depression and anxiety.

People who are less mobile, may not be able to stand, and those drawn to a simple practice, will enjoy qigong, its simple movements focusing on specific organs.

Our Classes

We’ll be resuming our weekly qigong/tai chi chuan classes with Bill Fiorella in early October. Please check back for our new schedule.
